The Beginning of Texas Infinites

In Fall 2012, a young sophomore by the name of Dan Glushko had a vision for a new organization for the 40 acres. Despite the many organizations on campus, Dan believed no co-ed spirit group existed that exemplified pillars for building long life friendships: Service, Social, and Spirit. Dan Glushko's attempt to create this organization failed multiple times. Frustrated with his failure, Dan Glushko began ranting his frustration to his close friends during a UT football tailgate. Laura Cotrino, David Alonso, Monica Pena, and Timothy Gonzalez Jr. were fascinated by Dan's vision, and agreed to help Dan create this organization. The next day, the five founders gathered around and began creating Texas Infinites. The five founders recruited their first class of Infinites in Spring 2013 and named 905 W. 30th the official Texas Infinites house.

Spirit & UT Women's Volleyball

As a new organization on campus, Texas Infinites lacked an identity on campus as a spirit group. The five founders believed Texas Infinites needed a sport team to rally behind and put all their spirit into. One night while watching the UT women's volleyball team play, the five founders agreed if the volleyball team won, Texas Infinites would become a spirit group dedicated to supporting the women's volleyball team. Down one set, UT's women team rallied back and eventually won the game.

Adversity, Growth, and Tinys

As the five founders reached the end of their time at The University of Texas, Texas Infinites almost did too. The five founders were the core of the organization and with them graduating, many members thought Texas Infinites would never be the same. In Fall 2015, Lavanya Venkatesan and Cristian Cruz, the president and vice-president respectively at the time, named the new recruits "Tinys" and created a program for the Tinys, which fostered unbreakable friendships between each of them. The program helped each Tiny place trust in one another and become a family. Since then, Texas Infinites has continued to grow and does not plan on stopping anytime soon!
